If you’re interested in Egypt, Egyptian music, art or (most importantly) food – then this is the right club for you!

The UniMelb Egyptian Club (UMEC) aims to celebrate Egyptian culture through fun events such as Egyptian film screenings, picnics/get togethers, music performances, food stalls and more. UMEC also strives to create a fun, inclusive environment where everyone can join, make friends and have a great time.

Club Aims:

  1. To promote Egyptian traditions and culture at The University of Melbourne for all students, regardless of whether or not they come from an Egyptian background.
  2. To foster a sense of community and belonging for all Egyptian, Arab, Middle Eastern and African students at The University of Melbourne.
  3. To create a forum for Egyptian students to celebrate their values.
  4. To represent the Egyptian community and act as a voice for them at Melbourne University in social events.
  5. To establish a connection between The University of Melbourne and other Egyptian societies within Victoria.
  6. To promote the study of Egypt’s rich history and culture for students/staff through fun, social and educational events such as Egyptian movie nights, food stalls, musical workshops, etc.
