We strive to build a healthy, sustainable, and just food system by creating a vibrant and robust community for alternative protein research, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Currently, our way of producing protein contributes to the climate crisis and is a driver of many pressing environmental and public health issues. Alternative proteins are a promising solution for feeding the ever-growing population more sustainably. In order to accelerate this field, the Melbourne Alt Protein Project provides opportunities for everyone to engage with alternative protein education, research and industry in various events and projects throughout the year.

We’re always keen to continue expanding our awesome community. If the future of alternative protein excites you, come join us!
