Hey film fan!

Do you like democracy, games, and giveaways? Not to mention film! On Wednesday of week 9 we’ll be having our Annual General Meeting (or AGM), where we’ll elect a new committee made up of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and six General Committee spots! 🎊🗳️🎉

Even if you’re not interested in running for anything and are just keen for more cool movie events, come along to help us reach quorum, vote, and keep the club running for another great/interesting year! If you are interested in helping run the society though, from what we do to what we show, this is your chance to get involved!

To make up for the lack of democracy pizza, we’ll have a couple of mystery giveaways… While after the AGM we’ll celebrate by playing some fun games, movie related and otherwise, before our weekly screening later that night! 📽️🎁🎲

G’day film mates! This ‘mid-sem’ weekend we’re diving into the Australian New Wave and shining the spotlight on the 70s and 80s Aussie movies of a leading and diverse director of it: Peter Weir! 🇦🇺

Maybe you know him partly from American efforts like Dead Poets Society (1989), The Truman Show (1998), and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003). But his home-grown films might just be his best, having earnt him the nickname “Peter Weird”.

You can check out the full marathon schedule, along with links to trailers, plus each night’s event with more info on all the films below. After each of them, we’ll chat on Zoom for a bit as usual.
