Farrago Edition One Launch Party

4-8pm
The Ida Bar, Level 1, Union House
Join us on Facebook

Over the summer we sprouted a couple of seedlings. We didn’t know if they’d make it through the heatwave, but then we turned up at the office one day and there was a beautiful garden.

We are almost ready to share our very first edition of Farrago 2018 with you, and by next Tuesday we hope that it will have been delivered safely and waving to you from stands all around campus. We promise to provide you with bunches of fun and can’t wait to celebrate the blooming of our new baby.

Come along to The Ida, UMSU’s new student bar (level one, Union House) on Tuesday 20 February at 4pm for a drink, a boogie and some floral farting. You will be able to meet other creative and arty minds, and the team that helped us put together edition one, without whom this mag would not exist.

Radio Fodder, Farrago Video and our new photography, satire and social media teams will all be there also! Make friends and have fun ♥

Unfortunately, this event is 18+, but if you are underage, there will be plenty more events throughout the year for you to come along to such as wordplays and workshops to meet the team.

Come find our stall on South Lawn during Carnival Day! We’ll be serving up vegan and GF rice paper rolls and treats with our friends from the Fair Food Challenge, Melbourne Uni Food Co-op, as well as being the hub for the Community Garden and Fossil Free and Lockout Lockheed campaigns.

VCA SummerFest Carnival

20 February, 12-5pm,
Southbank Campus (Victorian College of the Arts)

Come celebrate SummerFest at Unimelb’s creative hub! UMSU student reps from the Education and Queer depts will also have fun stalls for you to explore.

Games Night

Time to start mastering those end-game Jenga moves because Games Night is on for Summerfest!

Open to new and returning students, come along and munch down some free pizza while you make new friends and play some games. Brought to you by the UMSU Host Program.

Green Screen: Ferngully

The UMSU Environment Collective is bringing you everybody’s favourite forgotten 90s classic FernGully: The Last Rainforest!

Come hang out on concrete lawns for free food, drinks and live music before the outdoor screening under the stars.

Join us from 8pm – the film will start when the sun goes down!

SummerFest Meditation

Meditation is a great way of reducing stress, increasing mental and emotional stability and sharpening the mind. It is a great welfare activity that can be enjoyed by all students!

You can find us in the Training Rooms on Level 3 of Union House. And if you like it, join the UMSU Welfare department with their regular weekly classes, also free! (no excuses, ahem…)

No sign up is required to take part in each class, but places are limited so arriving early will make sure you avoid disappointment.
