Agricultural and Food Sciences Society

The official student club for students studying the Bachelor of Agriculture or related courses at Melbourne University, or any other students interested in the agricultural industries.

We run events though the year to connect Ag students, including Ag Ball (not to be missed), Boat Cruise, Bush Dance, and Ag Games. The society also helps share opportunities for professional development, and the chance to join wider industry competitions such as National Merino Challenge.

Whether you’re from the city or the country, if you’ve got an interest in agriculture and don’t mind getting a little dirt on your boots, this is the place for you.

Club Aims

  1. To provide an opportunity for young people (students) interested in Agriculture, agribusiness, food sciences and related industries to meet like-minded students.
  2. To run social events (BBQs, Ag ball, etc) to allow students to get to know their cohort better, along with students from other year groups and campuses.
  3. To allow students to network in a professional sense and provide a platform for students to share opportunities within Agricultural industries and benefit their career.
  4. To provide a connection between students and the wider Agricultural industry through past members, Dookie farm, FVAS staff and relevant industry professionals.
  5. To promote a sense of belonging in students within their course and university.
  6. To provide a body that can liaise between FVAS and students.
