Australian Music Appreciation Society


Club Aims:

  1. To provide a space for students from all faculties who listen to Australian popular music to connect and discuss and appreciate the industry and its artists.
  2. Promote and support the musical endeavours of artists belonging to marginalised groups, including but not limited to; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples & First Nations peoples and artists belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community.
  3. To provide students with a richer understanding of Australian culture, both past and present, through workshop that provide lyrical analysis and interpretation of prominent Australian artists and their music.
  4. To stimulate the economy of the Australian music industry by publicising local musical events and organising outings to ticketed events and tours, as presented by the artists themselves.
  5. To provide workshops that educate students on, and advocate for, harm reduction at Australian music festivals and events; specifically drug and alcohol related practices.
