Go Club

Are you interested in knowing the oldest strategic board game still played in its original form? A game that is as complex or simple as you want to make it? Then the game of Go (围棋, 囲碁, 바둑) is for you! Whether you are a complete beginner, or already an experienced player, we cordially invite you to our club’s weekly sessions where you could learn strategies from advanced players, solve “life-and-death” problems and play a few games with those of similar level.

Club Aims:

  1. To contribute to the internationalisation of Go, the most ancient board game still played in its original form, by establishing s Go community at the university of Melbourne.
  2. To organise activities accommodating games and discussions about Go, allowing Go enthusiasts to meet and socialise with people who have the same interests.
  3. To help beginners and amateur players improve their Go skills for future competitions.
  4. To share the culture of one of the Four Arts of the Chinese Scholar (Go) and communicate its philosophies.
