Notification of UMSU International Co-Option 2017

This is the official notification, with the relevant dates, locations and open positions, of the UMSU International Co-Option for the 2017/2018 committee.

Application Period

Applications will be opened from 12pm on the 30th June until 5pm on the 26th July (Thursday of Week 1). Completed forms should be delivered into the designated box in the UMSU International Lounge at the 2n d floor of Union House or online through the UMSU INTL online application at https://goo.gl/forms/PimzRjRUpM73U6lq2.

Applications will go through a shortlisting process prior to the interview period. Shortlisted candidates will be informed via e-mail.

Additional relevant material (CV, Personality Tests) may be requested depending of the applied for position.

Interview Period

Interviews will be from the 31st of July to the 2nd of August (Week 2) in the UMSU International Offices with exact dates to be determined based on the availabilities of both the candidates and the interviewers.

Job Roles

UMSU International Co-Opted Cultural and Social Officer

UMSU International Co-Opted Cultural and Social Officer shall:

(a)  be members of the UMSU International Cultural and Social sub-committee;

(b)  assist the UMSU International Vice-President (Cultural and Social) and UMSU International Cultural and Social Director on issues and activities related to the cultural and social well-being of Members in the University;

(c)  assist in handling all general affairs of UMSU International; and

(d)  take up special assignments when so entrusted by the UMSU International Central.

 

UMSU International Co-Opted Education & Welfare Officer

UMSU International Co-Opted Education & Welfare Officer shall:

(a)  be a diligent, responsible and cooperative member of the UMSU International Education & Welfare subcommittee;

(b)  assist the UMSU International Vice-President (Education and Welfare) and UMSU International Education and Welfare Director on issues and activities related to the education, welfare, and rights of Members such as Professional Mingle (networking event & career development), conducting the International Student Survey and campaigns to raise awareness on issues related to international students etc.;

(c)  be expected to write and do public speaking;

(d)  assist in handling all general affairs of UMSU International; and

(e)  take up special assignments when so entrusted by the UMSU International Central.

 

UMSU International Co-Opted Human Resources Officer

UMSU International Co-Opted Human Resources Officer shall:

(a)  be members of the UMSU International Human Resources sub-committee;

(b)  assist the UMSU International Human Resources Director in affairs related to the International Student Ambassador (ISA) Program, and improving or maintaining relationships between members of UMSU International Central;

(c)  assist in handling all general affairs of UMSU International; and

(d)  take up special assignments when so entrusted by the UMSU International Central.

 

UMSU International Co-Opted Communications Officer

UMSU International Co-Opted Communications Officer shall:

(a)  be members of the UMSU International Communications sub-committee;

(b)  assist the UMSU International Communications Director on issues and activities related to publicity of UMSU International;

(c)  be expected to be familiar with handling and designing newsletters, website

(d)  assist in handling all general affairs of UMSU International; and

(e)  take up special assignments when so entrusted by the UMSU International Central.

 

UMSU International Co-Opted Partnership and Sponsorship Officer

UMSU International Co-Opted Partnership and Sponsorship Officer shall:

(a)  be members of the UMSU International Partnership and Sponsorship subcommittee;

(b)  assist the UMSU International Partnership and Sponsorship Director in issues and activities related to liaison with both internal and external organisations relative to the University;

(c)  assist in handling all general affairs of UMSU International; and

(d)  take up special assignments when so entrusted by the UMSU International Central.

Notification of UMSU International Annual General Elections 2017

This is the official notification, with the relevant dates, locations and open positions, of the UMSU International Annual General Elections for the 2017/2018 committee.

Nomination Period
Nominations will open at 6pm on Friday 24th March and close at 6pm on Friday 14th April 2017.

Completed forms should be delivered into the designated box in the UMSU International Lounge at the 2nd floor of Union House.

Candidate Information Session 
A Candidate Information Session will be held from 12-2pm on Thursday 30th March*, to inform potential candidates of the responsibilities and the nature of work involved in the various positions. 

Policy Speech Session 
A Policy Speech Session will be held from 12-3pm on Thursday 27th April* for election candidates to give speeches for the roles. A short Q&A session will follow. 

Voting Sessions 
The UMSU International Annual General Election (AGE) 2017 is currently scheduled to be held from 11-4pm on Wednesday 3th May 2016 to Friday 5th May 2017 (*venues to be confirmed).
