Anti-Racism Workshops

In-line with the University’s regulations as a result of COVID-19 this event will not be taking place in Semester 1 2020. Please stay tuned for alternative dates for this event, and other online events, by checking this calendar.

UMSU People of Colour will run Anti-Racism Workshops every Tuesday and Friday from 2–4pm of Week 6, 7 and 8.

All Tuesday workshops will be held in Collaborative Learning Space, Alice Hoy (225), and all Wednesday workshops will be held in Jim Potter Room (G16) Old Physics.

The workshops are non-autonomous, and non-poc people are encouraged to attend. The Anti-Racism Workshops include:

Week 7:
Tuesday 10 September — Discrimination and Mental Health with Srishti Chatterjee
Friday 13 September — One of a Different Kind: Stories of Casual Racism with Akshata Kanhaiya Kulkarni

Week 8:
Tuesday 17 September — Creating Facts in Fiction: Race in Popular Culture with Felicity Mashuro
Friday 20 September — Fair and Not So Lovely with Nishtha Banavalikar
