This was probably my favourite class I've taken at university. It definitely takes up part of your holidays but the summer holidays are so long anyway, and as the class was enjoyable it didn't really feel like you were losing your holidays. We would start every day with a French tongue twister which was silly but a good bonding activity and good for pronunciation. As you are in the same class every day, you really got to know everyone and it was a bit like being back in a high school class. We watched two films which were both okay and at the end of the semester we presented our assignments at the Cannes Film Festival, and even voted on Best Actress, Actor and Film awards. As it is an intensive, you feel much more immersed in the French than you would if you did it across the whole year, and you get tested on things that are fresh in your head from learning them over the past couple of days. The orals feel scary but the tutors are really nice and it's actually not that bad at all. This subject covers a lot of content in a short period of time but it's definitely worth it.
