1 Comment on SOLS20001 Law, Justice and Social Change
Great subject. Nesam is very engaging and informed as a lecturer and Meribah is an excellent tutor, gives great feedback on assessment and facilitates inclusive and thoughtful class debate. Focuses on changing social norms and injustice through legal change, but acknowledges the need for a diversity of pathways when doing so. Assessment was also really interesting. It was a two part task that involved conducting a group interview with someone from a community group that had written submission for legal change, writing a report on this experience and then linking it to a social justice issue identified throughout the semester. Great break from your everyday Arts essay and provided examples of the application of criminology to overcoming social issues.
