'Supreme Me’ is a Mandarin play staged by Element Theatre Company. It is a splendid reinterpretation of the renowned absurdist satire, 'The Accidental Death of an Anarchist' by Dario Fo, the laureate of the 1997 Nobel Prize in Literature. While faithfully preserving the original's absurdly poignant linguistic style and its ruthless satirical indictment of authority, ‘Supreme Me’ ingeniously infuses contemporary relevance in its backstory, character constructs, and narrative trajectory, catering to the tastes of modern audience cohort. This adaptation is a daring yet harmonious confluence of tradition and modernity, a good play not to be missed.
