Find your inner actor through Union House Theatre’s Acting Fundamentals workshops.
Work with actor and theatre-maker Michelle McCowage, as she takes you through the basics of performing for theatre. Begin with understanding actor warm-up training, learn about making character choices, introduction to script analysis and translating ideas from a text into action. No experience is necessary – this intro workshop is open to all. In these fun online sessions, you will also begin to delve into the basics of creating your own performance with the acting techniques you learn. Whether you want to build confidence, meet new friends, or be introduced to a life-long passion for acting, these workshops are for you!
N.B. It is important to attend both sessions as the material and skills build each week.
Michelle McCowage is an actor, theatre-maker and recent graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (BFA Theatre). Her practise is playful and physically driven. Some of her credits include ‘Grand Gesture’ (La Mama, 2021), ‘Simulacrum’ (Digital work, 2020), two years touring Australia with Bamboo Theatre and a bit part in Season 4 of ‘A Place To Call Home’.
Participation is open to all University of Melbourne students.
