Acting Fundamentals – Character, Scripts and the Industry

In this inspiring and comprehensive acting short-course you’ll cover a whole range of skills relevant to the profession. Work with professional actor Sahil Saluja over four weeks, in this intensely practical series of classes. You’ll cover:
- Character building from scratch
- Scene Improvisation and how to organically build a relationship between characters
- Script analysis and breakdown
- The business end of the industry – taking your skills into the real world

Sahil has studied his craft in India, America and now Australia, where he calls home.
Earlier this year, he played the role of Poorna in Melbourne Talam – part of MTC’s 2017 Education Season – and his 2016 theatre credits include Spare Production’s Emma’s House Special and MTC’s A Long Way Home. Sahil recently starred in his first major film production, The Colour of Darkness, which was written and directed by Girish Makwana and premiered at the 2016 Indian Film Festival Melbourne, and released Australia wide in May 2017.
Sahil studied at the Melbourne Actor’s Lab and has undertaken further training at MTC, VCA, The University of Michigan and Second City in Chicago. While growing up in India, Sahil trained as a Bollywood dancer and now regularly performs with Jalwa Dance Company in Melbourne. Additionally, he performed his stand-up comedy show The Late Night Show at Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2015.
