This album is world-class rock ‘n’ roll. Mastered by Lindsay Gravina it has a strong 90s indie powerpop production. Think The Breeders meet Wire at Veruca Salt’s house party, listening to Redd Kross and never talking about boy troubles. The songs are well thought out clever pop-punk tunes with a searing energetic edge.
Baby 8’s lyrics chronicle seedy nights out celebrating hedonism and friendship, nights that turn into the next day’s nightmare. This album is not about being victims of heartbreak. It’s not about being victims at all. It is a celebration of vulnerability, of the search for a good enough time to forget the perils of existence. The best and worst of times, huddling together and bonded by vice.
