In the spirit of the Covid-19 era, the History Society, Classics and Archaeology Society, and Philosophy Society are teaming up to run TWO Welcome Events for 2021 via dual-delivery. Now more than ever, we want to ensure that all School of Historical and Philosophical Studies (SHAPS) students – or anyone interested in these fields – has the chance to meet and mingle with others who share similar interests and build a support network to get us through these tough times.
This second event is an in-person social event held in the Beer Garden at the Clyde Hotel from 5.30-7.30pm on Thursday 11th March. You’ll have the opportunity to meet people from across the SHAPS disciplines (whether you’re a SHAPS student or just interested in these fields!). You can discuss all your favourite topics in history, classics, archaeology, and/or philosophy with others who’ll actually understand you, all the while enjoying some free food and drinks provided by the three clubs!
Of course, it’s super important that our event adheres to Covid-safe guidelines. As such, if you wish to attend this event, we’ll need you to fill out the following form in advance: https://forms.gle/B9YHSWDkEo83dBb77. We may have to cap the number of attendees depending on current Covid restrictions. The Covid situation is ever evolving and we will keep you updated on what’s going on with the event as we get closer to the date.
The first event will be an online speed friending/games night – please follow this link for more information: https://www.facebook.com/events/143553377607487
