It’s Not A Compliment is a grassroots organization fighting for the rights of all individuals to enjoy public spaces free of the fear of harassment. Their vision is to create a world where vulnerable communities no longer have to place limitations on their behaviors in order to feel safe when out in public. We believe in a society where street harassment is recognized as a form of harm in and of itself – not simply a precursor to other forms of violence – where all individuals know what street harassment looks like, how to call it out and how to safely intervene to stop or prevent it.
This workshop is being run in collaboration with the UMSU Womenʻs Department and Itʻs Not a Compliment. Tickets are free, all you need to do is register using the link below:
This event is non-autonomous and is open to all students.
The Women’s Department acknowledges that the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nations are the traditional custodians of the land upon which we will be holding this event. We acknowledge that this land was stolen and sovereignty has never been ceded. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
