This International Womenʻs Day event is run in collaboration by the UMSU Indigenous, People of Colour, and Womenʻs Departments. As the speaker, Celeste Liddle will focus on Indigeneity and Feminism exploring topics such as decolonisation, intersectionality and International Womenʻs Day.
We acknowledge that this event is held on the land of the Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri tribes of the Kulin Nations, and that sovereignty for this land was never ceded. We’d like to pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging. We’d also like acknowledge that sexism has disproportionately affected Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and non binary people, and that they should always be at the forefront of our feminist activism.
