Break – 3 Liminal Avenue
A live streamed dance performance presented by Patrick O’Luanaigh
Peak inside 3 Liminal Avenue, a wooden box in the middle of nowhere. A transitional space, this box was to case two parents and a child, with something else lurking in the shadows. Now there is just me – hi. The work, inspired by Jung, Happy Days and my frenetic Irish father, explores how I exist in this limbo that has stunted the development of archetypal figures within my psyche, limiting my ability to enter the world with full independence.
Content warning: The work explores subject matter that may be distressing to some audiences.
Access: Live captioning provided for all performances. All sessions are relaxed performances.
Performances: 7-7:30PM AEST Thursday 12th and Friday 13th August
Box will be live-streamed from 10:30AM-7:30PM AEST Thursday 12th and Friday 13th August.
NOTE: The link to drop into the livestream from 10:30AM-7:30PM AEST is the same link to view the performances. Please register to receive the link.

Due to the COVID-19 lockdown, many people who have been involved in this project will unfortunately not be featured within this piece. However I’d like to acknowledge the incredibly talented people I collaborated with to make this project; Dancers and co-choreographers: Iris Elgar, Cora Hughes, Aimee Raitman and Samakshi Sidhu. Also shout out to Dad for helping me make the box, where would I be without you and your array of drill bits?
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners of the land upon which we live, work, and learn. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
