Just starting university and wanting to make friends or a seasoned student who just wants to make a difference we have the perfect event for you!
We are Robogals Melbourne and we make a difference by providing free of charge workshops to help inspire females to join engineering and related fields, and create a globally diverse and inclusive culture in engineering. No matter your degree or gender we encourage anyone wanting to make a difference to get involved!
We have a special combined training and workshop session coming up on the 28th of February for all new volunteers alike. Where you can learn and apply your new skills to make an impact in one day while making friends along the way! We will provide all food and transportation. This is definitely a not to be missed event!
We kick off with a training session where you will learn how to use our EV3 robots, have a quick lunch, then go to a school for a workshop and finish with a picnic afterwards . We will have some of our other more experienced volunteers presenting the workshop as we know your first workshop may seem a bit daunting. There is no expectation and you can be as involved in the workshop as you feel comfortable to be. You can try helping out the children with using the EV3s or near the end of the day maybe try to present!
If you’re keen on coming please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/UuRaNPKhBsYcTSKc7
To participate in our workshops the government requires everyone to have a Working With Children’s Check (WWCC). If you don’t yet have one please apply for free online. Once you’ve applied you just need to visit an Australia Post outlet to receive your confirmation receipt. Feel free to do this on your own or a couple of us are planning on going together before the training session. We will send you more specific details closer to the event.
See you there!
P.S If you aren’t available on this day don’t worry we’ll have more training sessions available throughout the semester.
