The Theatre Board offers funding to student theatre groups and individuals to encourage diversity and renewal of student theatre.
Grants available include:
- Access Grants
- Creative Development Grants
- New Work Grants
- Rehearsal Support Grants
- Seed Funding Grants
- Venue Hire and Production Support

Access Grants
Affiliated Student Theatre Groups can apply for up to $500 to assist you to make your work accessible.
You must discuss your application with the UHT Artistic Director before applying.

UMSU Creative Arts Grants
You can apply for grants (up to $500) from UMSU Creative Arts.
Whether you’re directing three musicals or curating an exhibition on dogs – you can apply for funding through this grants program.

UMSU Student Initiative Grants (SIGs)
Do you have an idea that will make the University of Melbourne student experience even better than it already is? SIGs are open to all students studying at the University of Melbourne, where students can be granted up to $1,000 to get their initiative started.
Applications are available year round and the approval comes from Students’ Council.

Uni Melb SSAF Grant Program Now Open
Do you have an idea for a project that will benefit a wide and diverse reach of students? Turn that idea into reality with a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) Grant. Securing a grant for your project is a great opportunity to develop some great skills for yourself while benefiting the student community in a meaningful way.
