GEOG10001 Famine: The Geography of Scarcity
Available as Breadth? Yes
Totally engaging subject content, let down by patchy knowledge dissemination. Two lectures per week, the 12 week teaching is split between three lecturers, with varying organisational skills and student engagement. This is a popular breadth option for many first year Environments students. It provides a contextualised introduction to the different aspects of geography: physical landforms, climate and weather events, and the cumulative impact on human organisation (and human impacts and understandings pertaining to the earth). Don’t be put off the teaching staff and assessment. If you enjoy this subject, Geography could well be the major for you.
