Activities & Workshops

Summer School is not only just about studying. We have organised a variety of fun and interesting things to do between academic classes to build teamwork skills and have loads of fun as well.

Activities

We have many activities planned for the two week program. At these events, students will have a great time with other students and tutors and experience a more social side of university life. Activities at the 2017 program included:

  • Trivia afternoon – a non-stop thrill ride through rounds such as Fabulous Film and TV, Marvelous Music, Marvel Cinematic Universe and many more!
  • Scavenger Hunt – a whirlwind tour of the University of Melbourne campus, with loads of fun activities along the way. Past activities have included competitions for the best 30 second dance routine, recreating ‘Bullet Time’ from The Matrix, and creating a hoverboard in the spirit of Back to the Future!
  • Carnival Day – that’s right, a Carnival Day! BBQ, water guns, jumping castle, lightsaber duels, face painting… the list goes on!
  • and many more

Workshops

Workshops are hour-long activities designed to complement the academic program by equipping students with skills beyond the VCE. Several workshops are run over the course of the program, and students have a of which workshops they participate in. Workshops range from sports to academic skills to general life skills, and will broaden the experience of Summer School. Some of the workshops that have been offered include:
