A Vision of the Human Future and Home

by Pallavi Bharwani

“A Vision of the Human Future and Home” is a short animated typographic video featuring Carl Sagan and his well-known speech, A Pale Blue Dot. The project is entirely composed of simple shapes and geometries, as well as a font of Pallavi’s own making. The intention of this project is to demonstrate how space and a simple colour palette – composed of white, black, and cerulean (specifically the hex #1FA3D2) – can be used to create a simple composition that gives you the sense that we’re part of something far bigger than ourselves, and shows how brilliant that pale blue dot, our home, truly is.

Content warnings: This video may potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.

Access: Captions provided through Pallavi’s typography as well as an audio playing throughout the video.
