This project attempts to encompass some of the day-to-day problems faced by international students, as well as some of the lingering uncertainties which affect their mental health. This film is about a student who seeks to find momentary peace of mind in an ever-changing world, fighting not only the urge to give up, but also of not losing one’s conscious state, after a series of events leads him to spiral out of control. One may find some peace in accepting the chaotic nature of life, but is it really worth trading in peace for anticipation?

Content warning: scenes of self-harm, discussion of mental health.

The artist would like to make the following acknowledgements. If Duncan Brown had not encouraged me to participate in this, I don’t believe any of this would have materialised. His immensely chill yet helpful approach has been nothing short of a powerful boost, and I envy his sense of humour. I also want to thank the wonderful Merryn Hughes and Vaishnavi Ravikrishna for their incredible help throughout (not to mention the grant, without which the quality would never have been of this level). None of this would be possible without you guys, and I’m so thankful!

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nations as the Traditional Owners of the land upon which we live, work, and learn. We pay our respects to the Elders past, present, and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
