How to Get Here

Most of our OWeek@UMSU events are being held at the Student Precinct, located on UniMelb's Parkville campus (click HERE for directions). There are heaps of ways to get to the Student Precinct

Public Transport
  • By Train: The closest train station is Parkville Station, part of the new Metro Tunnel and located just below the Student Precinct on Grattan Street. From there, you can enter campus via the entrances at Gate 7 and Gate 8 along Grattan Street.

    The closest City Loop station is Melbourne Central. From there, you can either change to State Library for a Metro Tunnel service or catch a Route 19 tram up Elizabeth Street, any tram heading up Swanston Street (see below), or walk to campus.
     
  • By Tram: The Melbourne University tram stop is located right next to the Student Precinct on Swanston Street and is serviced by Route 1, 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72 trams. To find out more, please visit the PTV website here.
On Foot
The Parkville campus is a 15 to 20 minute walk north of Melbourne’s CBD.

By Car
There is limited parking on campus. Find out more about public parking on the Uni's 'Parking on Campus' page here. There is also street parking available around campus. Make sure to check if your street park has any time restrictions or parking fees associated with it to avoid a fine.
Our Burnley OWeek@UMSU is being held at the University's Burnley Campus (click HERE for directions). There are heaps of ways to get to Burnley:

Public Transport
  • By Train: The nearest stations are Burnley (followed by a tram journey along Swan Street) or Heyington on the Glen Waverley line.
  • By Tram: Take tram number 70 from Flinders Street and disembark at stop number 18..
On Foot
On foot, it's a bit of a hike from Flinders St Station. It will take you 1.15 hours via Swan Street and Yarra Blvd.

By Car
You can reach the campus by entering from either Yarra Boulevard or, if approaching from the North, from Swan Street.
Our Southbank OWeek@UMSU is being held at the University's Southbank Campus (click HERE for directions). There are heaps of ways to get to Southbank:

Public Transport
  • By Train: The closest Metro Tunnel stations are Anzac and Town Hall. The closest City Loop station is Flinders Street. You can catch a connecting tram from any of these stations, or walk to campus.
  • By Tram: From Swanston Street Catch tram number 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 or 72 and alight at Stop 17 (Grant Street-Police Memorial).
On Foot
The Southbank campus is a 10 minute walk south of Flinders Street Station.

By Car
There is limited paid street parking around the Southbank campus. Make sure to check if your street park has any time restrictions or parking fees associated with it to avoid a fine.

Venue Accessibility

Level access from Swanston Street via ramp and from Grattan Street via paved footpath.

Level access to both Level 2 and 3 entrances via lift. 

The nearest:  

  •  Accessible toilet: Levels B, 2, 3, & 4 of Student Pavilion (Building 162) 
  •  All gender toilet: Levels B, 2, 3, & 4 of Student Pavilion (Building 162) 
  •  Low sensory space: Various spaces within Rowden White Library 

Level access from Monash Road; lift access available via Amphitheatre.  

The nearest:  

  •  Accessible toilet: Level 1, Arts & Cultural Building (Building 159) 
  •  All gender toilet: G Level, Arts & Cultural Building (Building 159) 
  •  Low sensory space: Disabilities Lounge, Level 3, Building 168; Rowden White Library, Level 2 & 3, Building 162 (Student Pavilion) 

Outdoors, level access from Grattan Street and Amphitheatre via paved footpath. Some uneven grassed ground.  

The nearest:  

  • Accessible toilet: Level B, Eastern Resource Centre (Building 171); G Level, Market Hall (Building 189) 
  •  All gender toilet: Level B, Eastern Resource Centre (Building 171); G Level, Market Hall (Building 189) 
  •  Low sensory space: Chill Out Area, Level 2, Building 168; Disabilities Lounge, Level 3, Building 168

Outdoors, level access from Amphitheatre via paved footpath. Some uneven ground.  

The nearest:  

  • Accessible toilet: G Level, 1888 Building (Building 198) 
  •  All gender toilet: G Level, 1888 Building (Building 198) 
  •  Low sensory space: Chill Out Area, Level 2, Building 168

Outdoors, uneven ground. Level access available from Amphitheatre and ERC Lawn.

The nearest:

  •  Accessible toilet: Levels G & 2, Building 168 
  •  All gender toilet: Level 1, Building 165
  •  Low sensory space: Chill Out Area, Level 2, Building 168; Disabilities Lounge, Level 3, Building 168

Level access to G Level, Market Hall (Building 189).  

Level access to G Level, Building 168 via Amphitheatre. 

Level access to Level 1, Building 168 via ramped footbridge from Level 1, Arts & Cultural Building (Building 159).  

Lift access to all levels in both Market Hall (Building 189) and Building 168. 

Please note that there will be limited space to navigate due to tables and crowds.
