Publishing

Publishing has played an important role in the George Paton Gallery’s history since the 1970s, when the Gallery operated as a generator and supporter of influential art publications. Today, we continue to understand publishing as an important extension of our exhibition and public programs, providing space for student artists, writers, curators to develop and share new ideas. This page brings together exhibition publications, artist books, catalogues and other printed projects produced by the Gallery and its creative community.

Publications

Zachary Beven, Dark Places (2024)

Sunday O’Sullivan

A velvety world lives in the George Paton Gallery’s collection. Depicting a figure reclined in a monochrome void, staring down the viewer, the whites of their eyes cutting through the indigo haze. Zachary Beven’s painting Dark Places was acquired by

Bells and Whistles

Yue Guo, Sophia Lark, Giulia Lallo, Mi-Chieh Chen, Olivia McRae, and Sunday O’Sullivan

This publication emerged in response to Bells and Whistles, an exhibition at the George Paton Gallery with works by Jincheng Deng, Tom Denize, Majed Fayad, Briony Galligan, and Jen Valender.
