The undergraduate history journal of the University of Melbourne. We provide a space for undergraduate students to engage with history in their own way.

Chariot is the undergraduate history journal of the University of Melbourne. The journal receives, edits, and publishes history related articles, research essays, creative pieces, reviews, and artworks, and encourages students to engage with history in their own ways. We take submissions all year round. Chariot was founded in 2018 as the publications arm of the History Society and became an independent journal in 2021.

Chariot is affiliated with the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne. Our flagship events include the annual Chariot Volume Launch Party co-hosted by staff of the History department.

Club Aims:

  1. To facilitate connection and community among students interested in writing or publishing in history
  2. To provide academic support and advice for students in writing, editing or publishing
  3. To offer the opportunity for students to express their writing through being published
  4. To provide a forum for discussion around historical and historiographical academic debates
  5. To offer opportunities for networking, professional development and career advice in writing, publishing or other historical work
