Hi friends!

We are all a bit over listening to each other talk in the office and would love to hear your voices instead. Wordplay is the media department’s open mic night, and we want you to serenade us with your songs, woo us with your words and charm us with your creative nonfiction.

Make the first week back at uni a bit more enjoyable by joining us at 4pm on Tuesday 27 February for drinks and pizza and meet fellow creative minds.

You can read anything and everything. From your teenage fanfiction and silly sonnets to your to your 10,000 word thesis and reddit threads, we want to hear you!

We will have a sign up sheet on the night but feel free to message one of the editors (Ashleigh, Esther, Jesse or Monique) if you are a keen bean.

Over the summer we sprouted a couple of seedlings. We didn’t know if they’d make it through the heatwave, but then we turned up at the office one day and there was a beautiful garden.

We are almost ready to share our very first edition of Farrago 2018 with you, and by next Tuesday we hope that it will have been delivered safely and waving to you from stands all around campus. We promise to provide you with bunches of fun and can’t wait to celebrate the blooming of our new baby.

Come along to The Ida, UMSU’s new student bar (level one, Union House) on Tuesday 20 February at 4pm for a drink, a boogie and some floral farting. You will be able to meet other creative and arty minds, and the team that helped us put together edition one, without whom this mag would not exist.

Radio Fodder, Farrago Video and our new photography, satire and social media teams will all be there also! Make friends and have fun ♥

Unfortunately, this event is 18+, but if you are underage, there will be plenty more events throughout the year for you to come along to such as wordplays and workshops to meet the team.
