Ahlan wa Sahlan to all Egyptians and aspiring Egyptians !!

If you’re interested in Egypt, Egyptian music, art or perhaps most importantly, food – then this is the right club for you!

The UniMelb Egyptian Club (UMEC) aims to celebrate Egyptian culture through fun events such as Egyptian film screenings, music performances, cooking classes, food stalls and more. UMEC also strives to create a fun, inclusive environment where everyone can join, make friends and have a great time.

Club Aims:

  1. To promote Egyptian traditions and culture at The University of Melbourne for all students, regardless of whether or not they come from an Egyptian background.
  2. To foster a sense of community and belonging for all Egyptian, Arab, Middle Eastern and African students at The University of Melbourne.
  3. To create a forum for Egyptian students to celebrate their values.
  4. To represent the Egyptian community and act as a voice for them at Melbourne University in social events.
  5. To establish a connection between The University of Melbourne and other Egyptian societies within Victoria.
  6. To promote the study of Egypt’s rich history and culture for students/staff through fun, social and educational events such as Egyptian movie nights, food stalls, musical workshops, etc.
