Vegan Club

The University of Melbourne Vegan Club welcomes all students who are interested in adopting a healthy, sustainable and cruelty free lifestyle. We aim to enrich everyone’s understanding regarding the sustainable, environmental, health, ethical and economic benefits of a plant based diet.

Our events include educational talks, documentary nights, cooking classes, picnics, boat cruises, outings to animal farms and weekend vegan retreats!

We encourage you to join and help us spread love and compassion in the most beautiful way.

If you wish to connect with likeminded people, join our group on Facebook:

Club Aims:

  1. To educate students regarding the sustainable and environmental benefits of a plant-based diet, that produces less greenhouse emissions, uses less H2O and land.
  2. To demonstrate the health benefits of a plant-based diet which has been shown to prevent and reverse heart disease, cancer, diabetes and many other health conditions.
  3. To illustrate the ethical and economic benefits of a plant-based diet which avoids unnecessary suffering of animals and which is economically viable to feed the planet.
  4. To show students how to prepare healthy and delicious plant-based meals, through cooking classes and food demonstrations.
