2 Comments on ECON10004 Introductory Microeconomics
A great intro to the world of economics, and to thinking like an economist. This subject used to be taken by the famous Jeff Borland, hero to thousands. Though Jeff has since stopped taking the subject, its content is still similar, and is good, solid fun. Some simple maths is involved, but a very manageable amount. Most of intro micro focuses on intuition. Lectures and tutes are reasonable, as are exams and assignments. This is a suitable subject for people with zero background in economics, but also for those who did it at high school. It’s a good idea to take if you’re unsure about whether to major in eco, or if you’re just interested in knowing the basics of this discipline, which is central to politics, finance, business and so much else.
A really good subject, great to do as a breadth even if you don't intend to complete an economics major. You really learn to think like an economist in this subject, and you learn enough of the language to understand discussions of microeconomic issues.
