2 Comments on MIIM30011 Medical Microbiology: Bacteriology
I would say this is the best subject I've taken so far. The teaching staffs are enthusiastic and really helpful. Bacteriology requires a lot of memorisation. The first 10 lectures focused on the identification of bacteria and human responses. lecture 11-15 focused on the common pathogenesis of a wide range of bacteria. Lecture 16 to 18 focused on the diagnosis of bacteria and the rest focuses on important bacteria (that we've covered in the previous lectures or MIIM 20002) This subject consists of 2 MSTs worth 20% each with a mixture of MCQs and short answer questions, 5% weekly quiz, 55% final exam. Overall very well coordinated and a very interesting subject.
I didn't like this subject as I didn't find it very engaging or the content very interesting but if you like bacteria you'll love it! It is well organised, but very very content heavy and way too detailed. Lots of work required.
