Event Description

Pizza and Policy

12/04/2024 - 12/04/2024 6pm - 8pm

Market Hall (B189) Level 1, Room 101

ALP Club

This event encompasses two stalwarts of the ALP club, talking s**t about terrible policies of the government, and chowing down on some pizza.

The NUS has been campaigning to lower the age of Centrelink independence from 22 to 18 years old so every student can access financial support when they’re studying. The rising cost of living pressures, casualised and insecure work, high rent costs, and the increasing cost of education fees are making it harder than ever for students to pay for their studies.

Bring your A game to rip into centrelink, and invite your friends to help the NUS’ ‘Change the Age’ campaign. This campaign is all about lowering the age of independence for young people, so that we can access Youth allowance when we really need it.
