Know Your Rights Workshop!

The Music Students’ Society, UMSU Southbank and UMSU Creative Arts present a Know Your Rights workshop!
How do you know you’re being paid what you’re worth? How can you find out if you are being treated right in a creative workplace? What can you do if something goes wrong? What exactly does it mean to unionise a workplace in the arts? These questions and more are ready to be answered by representatives from prominent unions and peak arts bodies here in so-called “Australia.”
Speakers currently include representatives from the National Tertiary Education Union, APRA AMCOS, and the Media, Entertainment, and Arts Alliance.
Date: Wednesday, October 13th
Time: 2:30 – 4:30 PM AEST

The UMSU offices are situated on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, and acknowledge the long history of art and storytelling on these stolen lands. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
