Previously known as Apply first aid or Senior first aid, this training course will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide First Aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations, including in the home, workplace or within the community, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Course duration: 1 day online theory (before 17Sept) + 1 day practical (17Sept)
Course content:cBasic Life Support (DRSABCD), CPR and AED, Shock Management, Airway Management – Asthma, Choking, Severe, Allergic Reaction, Hyperventilation, Cardiac Emergencies, Seizures and Convulsions, Bleeding and Wound Care, Burns and Scalds, Extremes of Heat and Cold, Musculoskeletal Injuries, Poisons and Toxic Substances, Bites and Stings, Abdominal injuries
Assessment: Students will be assessed through the demonstration of practical skills, participation in role plays, analysis of case studies and a written quiz.
Outcome: On successful completion of this course, students will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
Reaccreditation: Current industry standards state this course must be updated every 3 years with the CPR component being updated every 12 months.
