LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY SUTURE ON ORANGES/MANDARINS 🍊(sorry, there won't be any real open wounds to practice on this time around 😦🙊)
NURSING STATION:
LEARN HOW TO DO A SUBCUTANEOUS INJECTION 💉 🏥
PHYSIOTHERAPY STATION:
LEARN HOW TO USE PHYSIOTHERAPY EQUIPMENT LIKE A GONIOMETER (what's that⁉️), TENDON HAMMER 🔨, AND HOW TO INTERPRET X-RAYS 👨⚕️
DENTISTRY STATION:
LOOK AT SKULL MODELS AND LEARN ABOUT MANDIBULAR FRACTURES (yikes!!) 💀
OPTOMETRY STATION:
LEARN ABOUT EYE DISEASES AND ACTUALLY EXPERIENCE HOW IT MIGHT FEEL WITH ONE 🥽 👁
SPEECH PATHOLOGY STATION:
LEARN HOW TO DO AN ORAL PERIPHERAL ASSESSMENT 🗣 IN A POST-STROKE PATIENT
AUDIOLOGY STATION:
LEARN ABOUT HEARING AIDS AND HOW TO MAINTAIN THEM 🦻
SOCIAL WORK AND MUSIC THERAPY STATION:
TBC
Entrance fee: $4 (ensure that you are an IPEP member through the UMSU website before being able to purchase a ticket)
Date and location: Thursday 21st September, 5:30pm at 200 Berkeley St, Level 1 (Room 106-107), Carlton VIC 3053.
Please come earlier (15 minutes at least to sign in - 5:15pm)
