Mt Rothwell Field Trip

26/08/2024 - 26/08/2024 10am - 8pm

Mt Rothwell Conservation Sanctuary, Little River

Wildlife Conservation Society

WCS will be heading to Mt Rothwell Conservation Sanctuary again on Monday August 26 from around 10am-8pm in Little River.

Mt Rothwell is the largest feral predator-free ecosystem in Victoria where you can see some of Australia’s most threatened fauna, including the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, Southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby and Eastern Quoll. Mt Rothwell was established for the management of high conservation value species breeding and research programs. The centre has a focus on Victorian species with a particular emphasis on species indigenous to the basalt plains grasslands, habitats and woodlands.

The day will consist of volunteering around the sanctuary, a BBQ dinner provided by WCS and an evening spotlight tour.

For those who choose to carpool, we will meet at the Tin Alley carpark at uni around 9am but members with their own cars are welcome to meet us there.

However, we can only invite 30 members for the day and we also need to ensure that there are enough car seats to get everyone there! Please let us know in this form below (by Monday August 5) if you would like to come along, how you plan to get there and whether you can be a driver on the day.

We can't wait!
