Today at around 11:30 am, the fire alarm went off in the Baillieu Library, prompting an immediate evacuation. Both the Baillieu Library and the Co-Op bookstore were evacuated leaving around 100 confused students and staff standing around South Lawn looking on.
Anna, a librarian at the Bailleu said that the cause of the alarm was unknown. “There are firemen in there, it’s not a drill” she confirmed to Farrago.
Camillo, a student who was studying in the library at the time, said that the evacuation was orderly and well handled. “We were all studying and then we heard a voice telling us to leave the library, so we got up and left”
The cause of alarm remains unknown.
