The Saudi Student Association at Melbourne University (SAMU) is a cultural club dedicated to promoting Saudi culture, celebrating Arabic calligraphy, and providing academic and social support to Saudi and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) students, and Arabic language learners. SAMU welcomes all students interested in Arabic culture by offering a space for connection, tradition, and cross-cultural engagement. SAMU also actively creates initiatives connecting students and graduates with Saudi institutions, expanding their access to career opportunities. Through events, workshops, and community initiatives, SAMU strengthens the presence of Saudi and GCC students at the University of Melbourne and fosters long-term community ties.

Club Aims:

  • To promote Saudi culture and traditions at the University of Melbourne, enhancing cultural diversity and fostering meaningful cross-cultural connections.

  • To provide academic guidance and social support to new, current, and graduate Saudi students at the University of Melbourne to enhance their sense of belonging.

  • To create student-led initiatives at the University of Melbourne that connect Saudi students and graduates with Saudi institutions, expanding their access to promising career opportunities.

  • To support Arabic language learners at the University of Melbourne and celebrate Arabic calligraphy as a timeless artistic tradition.

  • To celebrate the achievements, contributions, and academic excellence of Saudi students and alumni at the University of Melbourne through recognition events.

  • To extend academic and social support to students from other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, fostering a broader sense of community within the university.
