Student Theatre Groups

Student theatre groups are groups of students who produce and perform their own shows. We welcome ALL types of performance! We have over 20 affiliated student theatre groups. You can find one you’d like to join in the list below or you can start your own group.

Open Groups

Barkly Theatre

Element Theatre Company

Element Theatre Company is a student-run theatre group that creates Mandarin plays.

Flare Dance Ensemble

A student-run dance group that aims to provide ample opportunities for students to learn, teach, choreograph, and perform dance across stage and street sty

Floor Work

A theatre group that collaboratively devises movement-based original and reimagined performance works.

Med Moves

A dance group for Melb Uni graduate students that provides classes tailored for beginners in a range of different dance genres.

Melb Uni Chinese Theatre Group (MUCTG)

Established in 1993, MUCTG presents two productions each year in Chinese with English surtitles.

Melb Uni Law Revue

An annual comedy sketch show written and performed by (not just Law) students.

Melb Uni Shakespeare Company (MUSC)

MUSC has been an active part of the Uni Melb’s theatre community for over a decade. Performance season is semi-annual.

Melbourne Uni Street Dance

MUSD is a new theatre group and offers a piece of culture and an outlet for self-expression for students through street dance in University of Melbou

Uni Melb Music Theatre Association (UMMTA)

UMMTA produce a full-scale musical production each semester, as well as running smaller projects and holding fun events.

Closed Groups

Don’t get upset, it isn’t because they don’t like you, these groups just aren’t open to ALL students e.g you have to be living at college to be in a college production or studying medicine to be in the Med Revue.
