ASA, it goes as follows: The Arab Student Association (ASA) is your new home away from home! We intend to create a sense of belonging and shared effervescence between Arabs and non-Arabs alike; to gather at fabulous happenings that integrate academia with the vast heritage of Arab students within the Unimelb community. ASA finds pride in the rich culture, history and arts that have emerged from within Arab societies, which will be demonstrated through spell-binding events like traditional dance nights, and cultural exchange dinners. This is an enthralling opportunity for you to integrate into the ornate cultural realm of the immensity that is the Arab world!

Club Aims:

  • To cultivate community building: create a sense of belonging and effervescence for Arabs at unimelb, while allowing non-Arabs to connect to fellow Arab students through their similarities and differences.
  • To enhance cultural education and awareness: a chance for non-Arabs to learn more about the diverse Arab cultures, traditions and arts.
  • To promote diversity and inclusion: promote understanding and appreciation of Arab culture within the broader university community.
  • To engage in community service and charitable initiatives that support causes relevant to the Arab world; promote social responsibility among members and the unimelb community.
  • To encourage artistic expression through various forms of art, including visual art, music and dance.
