We are a non-profit organisation that provides students with the opportunity to participate in various Chinese cultural and music-related activities.
Since our founding in 1997, we have staged multiple original musical productions, including <The Puppets>, <Crimson Spring>, and <The Golden Horse Awards>. Since 2001, <CMG Star> singing competitions have been organised on a yearly basis. Additional innovative concerts and Livehouse performances such as <Unplugged> and <Noir> are specially designed for musicians playing a vast range of styles.
The highlight of the year is, however, CMG’s <Annual Classical Concert>, which showcases the amazing musical skills of our members, as well as the incredible talents of our production crew. Other than these, regular meetings that include social gatherings and club activities are offered to all members.
The occasional social events welcome all committee members, actors, dancers, musicians, and most importantly all Music lovers into the CMG family and offer everyone the chance to make new friends, develop interests, and showcase talents.
Melbourne University Chinese Musical Group is proudly the only Chinese group of its kind in Melbourne.
Club Aims:
- Provide a platform for contemporary Chinese music.
- Promote Chinese culture to the university community, local and international.
- Provide students with a chance to discover their acting/singing/dancing talent.
