A lively & active club with frequent social and State/Federal MP events. We are passionate about progressive ideas influencing party politics. Let’s get Labor Elected this year!!

The University of Melbourne Labor Club is the home of progressive politics on campus. As the leading student organisation aligned with the Australian Labor Party (ALP) at Unimelb, we provide opportunities to learn how to run campaigns and shape policy. We organise election campaigning across federal and state elections, host events with Victorian and Federal Labor MPs, and provide networking opportunities with members of the Australian Labor Party. Unlike many political clubs, the Labor Club at the University of Melbourne is committed to open, non-judgmental debate and constructive discussion about the future of the Labor movement.

Join the most active Labor student club at Unimelb today! If you would like to get involved, join the club via this page or fill out the Expression of Interest form.

Club Aims:

  1. Promote and pursue the ideals and values of the Australian Labor Party and the broader labour movement on campus.
  2. Provide a forum for people concerned with student unionism to discuss issues of concern.
  3. Encourage participation in the Student Union and all other facets of student representation on campus.
  4. Encourage commitment to the principle of affirmative action and equal opportunity.
  5. Develop a fully participatory decision making process and support the policies formulated by the club.
