Our Club is the sole centre-right/conservative Club on Campus. We host a range of events with MPs and frequently travel interstate as a Club. We host drink events, campaigning days and much more.

Founded in 1925, the Melbourne University Liberal Club (MULC) has been the home to some of the Liberal Party’s finest warriors for over 90 years, with many of our alumni playing prominent roles as cabinet ministers in Victoria’s and Australia’s preeminent governments.

The Club has proudly maintained its intellectual independence from the Liberal Party ever since its inception, with members freely debating matters that have and will continue to shape the future of our country. Additionally, MULC has a range of social events and campaigning trips which keep members engaged through the academic year.

Our club is proud boast an alumnus that has been heavily involved in events of national significance, including the 1951 Communist Dissolution Referendum and the founding of the Liberal Party of Australia. As the oldest Liberal Club in the country, current members still continue the fine traditions that previous members began, always looking to recruit new members to its ranks to fight the left on campus.

Come along, get involved and become apart of 90 years of liberalism on campus.

Club Aims:

  1. To discuss and debate matters of political and current interest
  2. To formulate and promote policies in accord with the philosophies of liberalism.
  3. To promote social interaction.
