Hispanic Culture and Language Society

Welcome to the Melbourne University Hispanic Culture and Language Society. Our society celebrates all things related to the Hispanic world. We welcome and are open to everyone, including those who are learning Spanish, those who are of Hispanic descent, and those who share an interest in Hispanic culture and language!

Our society is excited to bring you a fun and diverse year of events. ¡Hasta pronto!

Aims:

• To organise events, foster friendships and build a community that is welcoming and safe for all who have a curiosity to explore the Hispanic world.
• To provide the students and staff of the University of Melbourne with an environment in which they can further their understanding of Hispanic Culture.
• To build mutually beneficial relationships with the wider Hispanic community to deliver staff and students with a well-rounded understanding of the Spanish speaking world.
• To be a support network for students who are studying Spanish, allowing them to practise their language skills beyond the classroom and ask questions amongst peers without judgement, in a low-stress environment.
• To support exchange students from Spanish-speaking countries to integrate into the social community at the University of Melbourne while celebrating their cultural identity.
