The Google Developers Student Club (GDSC) at the University of Melbourne is a thriving community of both undergraduate and graduate students who share a passion for Google technologies and programming. Our club is a dynamic hub of learning and innovation, where members delve into exciting fields like Machine Learning, Android app development, Google Cloud, Flutter, Coding Interviews and more. We foster a collaborative environment by hosting engaging events, inviting industry experts as guest speakers, and facilitating valuable networking opportunities. GDSC at the University of Melbourne is also known for organizing hackathons and various programming workshops, empowering students to explore and excel in the world of technology. Join us to embark on an inspiring journey of growth and creativity!

Aims:

  • To provide a platform for students to enhance their technical skills through hands-on sessions like workshops and seminars to encourage learning and growth.
  • To explore Google Technologies and allow students to access Google Technologies and platforms. Members get exposure to various Google services such as Cloud Platform and Tensorflow.
  • To build a strong and supportive community of like-minded students who share an interest in technology and coming up with solutions, regardless of their major.
  • To foster community engagement through solutions-oriented hackathons that revolve around addressing one of 17 Sustainable Development Goals, while competing with other universities.
  • To contribute to our local communities through tech-related initiatives such as collaborate with NGOs for social impact projects, promote digital literacy, etc.
  • To allow students to interact with industry experts, attend guest lectures and potentially secure internships/jobs through collaboration with local tech companies and startups.
