The Pacific Island Student Association was established to celebrate and promote Pacific Island cultures at the University of Melbourne. Our aim is to share the richness of Pacific Island traditions with the university community, providing a platform for students to connect and engage with their cultural heritage. We are committed to raising awareness and advocating for the Pacific Islands region while supporting educational and career opportunities for students from these communities. Through hosting meaningful events, we strive to honor and showcase the diverse cultures of the Pacific Islands.

The aims of the club are:

  1. To promote and share Pacific Island cultures, communities and students to all University staff and students.
  2. To provide. a platform to engage, meet and gather students with an interest in the Pacific Islands together.
  3. To raise awareness, support and advocate for the Pacific Islands region.
  4. To promote educational, career development and cultural opportunities for aspiring University of Melbourne students from the Pacific Island communities of Australia.
  5. To provide an event-hosting platform to celebrate Pacific Island cultures.
