Amnesty International University of Melbourne

Amnesty International University of Melbourne is of a global movement of over 10 million people campaigning to end human rights abuses and promote a world where everyone can enjoy the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We are passionate about protecting human rights, to promote awareness for Amnesty International’s campaigns, to educate interested students on current human rights issues around the world, to give students an open and safe environment to discuss human rights.

We plan to hold events like film screenings to engage the university community with discussions on human rights, host experts on human rights to present seminars, and engage in effective activism practices and education.

Club Aims

  • To create a community of like-minded individuals from all faculties who are passionate about protecting human rights.

  • To promote awareness for Amnesty International’s campaigns, what to do and how we make a difference.

  • To educate interested students about current global rights issues.

  • To give students an open and safe environment to discuss human rights.
