Please note that the first two weeks of rehearsals each semester are free for new members to trial!
With over 250 members across our 13 bands and groups, Apollo Music Society provides the largest student-run music program at The University of Melbourne. Since our humble beginnings as a small choir and string orchestra established in 2002, Apollo has flourished to offer a diverse line-up of opportunities for musicians of all abilities.

What do we do?
We run ten instrumental and choral ensembles, two jam sessions and a music composition workshop every week of the semester. We also have a variety of social events throughout the year such as BBQs, board game nights, trivia and karaoke, but most memorably, our semesterly camps! To top it all off, our semesterly performances - Open Mic, Rock Night, and Charity Concert provide a platform for our talented musicians to perform in front of a supportive audience! All up, we run almost 300 events in a year - woah!

MUSIC: Our wide variety of ensembles offer students and other members of the community the opportunity to participate in group music making, weaving beautiful melodies and making lifelong... FRIENDS: Our ensembles and social events are the perfect place to meet new people and build friendships to last long beyond your time at university. We pride ourselves on our welcoming and fun atmosphere to make sure that everyone has a great time! And you'll feel especially good about it because Apollo supports... CHARITY: Every semester, we hold a charity concert that not only showcases the musical talent of our members but also raises money for worthy causes and charities. In 2024 we raised over $5000!
